On Monday, prime minister Narender Modi has inaugurated the submarine optical fiber cable. which is connecting Chennai and Andaman & Nicobar island.
this will help in the economy boost up of the island. the foundation pillar was situated in port Blair on 30 December 2018.
Andaman and Nicobar Islands
The Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a union territory of India comprising 572 islands of which 37 are inhabited. The Andaman and Nicobar are also home to the sentinel's people, an uncontacted people.
the territory capital is the city of Blair.
The population of the island is something about 4 lakhs people in 2012 and also they have their own official animal whose name is the dugong.
there was an exceptional work doing by the BSNL.
which do this work on record 24 months and provide the internet on each island of the Andaman and Nicobar
so this will help the sentinel's people of the islands and join with them with the rest of the world
the speed of the net is provided to the people is 400gigabytes per second at the 8 most populated islands
and the rest of the islands provided the speed of internet is 200 gigabytes per second
in the past, the internet is provided to these island through satellites
now they have another option
which is help them for a better experience and also provide a boost to our economy through tourism
this is a complete underwater sea project. the distance is covered around 2300 km and it is inaugurated by our prime minister on august,10 2020

EXPENDITURE
The total expenditure for this project is 1224 crore rupees. the money is allocated by USOF ( universal service obligation fund )
funds come from the universal service levy (USL) of 5% charged from all the telecom operators on their adjusted gross revenue (AGR) which are then deposited into the consolidated fund of India and require prior parliamentary approval to be dispatched.
this fund is deemed to have come into force from 1st April 2002, the USO fund is to be utilized exclusively for meeting the universal service obligation.
Universal service levy is collected from the service providers at a defined percentage of adjusted gross revenue as a component of license fee. the assortment of USL is credited to the united store of India and a portion of assets to USOF is through parliamentary endorsement.. the balance is the credit of the fund does not lapse at the end of the financial year.

Now, India will also be thinking about the transshipment port on the Great Nicobar island. they have the cost of 10000 crore rupees. this transshipment port provides many services to the big ship consignments. it will provide fuel for the long journey of the ship and it provide also supplies and services to those ships . in the long go India will also generate revenue through this transshipment port.
